  3. WHO WE ARE AND HOW TO CONTACT US

  5. Reality Software is a small, two person company run by 
  6. myself, Ben Blumenberg, and my wife, Leslie Berger Blumenberg. 
  7. We do it all: author, design, produce, test and ship the software, 
  8. maintain our PC's and feed the cat. We started Reality Software 
  9. in the winter of 1991 when our two daughters were preparing to go 
  10. out into the world on their own and PC technology had arrived
  11. that allowed us to execute various product ideas we had
  12. developed.

  14. Our first product line was mythology E-books, a commitment that 
  15. has its roots in our intense personal interest in humankind's 
  16. spiritual journey, both past and present. Before entering the 
  17. computer software business, I ad a college faculty position for 21 
  18. years and had done considerable published research in such 
  19. fields as biometry, population genetics, human evolution (physical 
  20. and cultural anthropology) and history of hand tools in America. 
  21. Although my casual acquaintance with religious history goes back 
  22. to my undergraduate years, I began to develop a deep curiosity 
  23. about ancient, classical and medieval history and the evolution of 
  24. religious and mythic systems.

  26. In the fall of 1994, we began to develop two additional, but 
  27. interrelated, product lines. From the early '80s through the early 
  28. '90s, we were full time antique dealers and thereby became quite 
  29. involved with various aspects of American history. During that 
  30. period, we collected antique transportation photography, 
  31. particularly that of early railroads and classic sailing 
  32. ships. Our collection is fascinating to us and we hope you enjoy it 
  33. as well. Many of the photos are unique, quite rare and contain 
  34. valuable historical data. We decided to have this collection 
  35. scanned, making it available to both enthusiasts and media 
  36. professionals at the lowest possible cost, accompanied by 
  37. whatever reliable historical data can be determined for each 
  38. image. As many of these early photos are severely damaged, 
  39. Leslie brings her exceptional skill at restoration to this project in 
  40. order to both accurately preserve the important data in the images 
  41. and make an attractive computer graphic available for sale. 
  42. You will rarely see small graphic files at 256 grey scale with this 
  43. level of clarity and quality.

  45. Leslie has a degree in special needs education for young 
  46. children. Her experience with the diversity of perceptual worlds 
  47. manifested by young children, whose alternative visions may be 
  48. unique unto themselves, has provided an endlessly fertile ground 
  49. for metaphoric artistic exploration. Our third product line rests 
  50. upon the her artistic talents. Her thematic focus stems from a study 
  51. of the archeology and anthropology of tribal and Neolithic 
  52. cultures. Leslie then draws upon this data to create important 
  53. artistic motifs which illustrate the clan experience, totemic 
  54. relationships and the vision quest. Her compositions illustrate the 
  55. great mythic diversity that has, and still does, exist among the 
  56. world's peoples. We hope you enjoy these exceptional images as 
  57. they capture important mythological motifs and may they enrich 
  58. your imagination and spiritual lives.
